I have a fair few acquaintance, but just
about a handful of true friends and Mary is most certainly one of them.
Mary is the epitome of Public Relations and
commenced by first mailing my book: ‘Cable the Crow,’ out to a newly formed
school in Uganda, Africa, which I hasten to mention is the second largest
continent in the world. Due to the postal system taking eternity, sadly we have
no visual of the children receiving the book as yet, for all you lovelies to
look at, (obviously faces blurred); but I am sure it will arrive any day soon.
She relentlessly mentions my book to everyone
relevant to children’s picture books, such as her relations, friends, teachers,
parents of children and so forth. Mary also mentions my book to anyone with
whom her path crosses. Mary is an ambassador for my book and fundamentally, is
an amazing person!
She visited local book shops in her region and was
delighted to inform me that when the staff in Waterstones Leicester saw my
book, they loved it, checked their website, noticed the book was available
online through Waterstones, and so decided to place an order to stock it.
And she didn’t stop there…well before I commenced
reading my book in primary schools, Mary had already read it to a primary
school in Leicester-the midlands. She also advised me that my book is to be
read in other schools in the vicinity and was to be read for World Book Day at
a school in Birmingham.
I thank you Mary for all your hard work.
